This comprehensive list of cultural information about hundreds of countries is a compilation of research done by the United States government between 1986-1998. While it is dated, it may be a useful start to your research project.
Cultural Profiles Project
Though this page was created to teach Canadians, it is by far one of the best websites available for teaching anyone about world cultures. Click into the English site, and then select a country. On the left side of the page, you will find a menu of topics about that country. This website is filled with great facts and colorful images.

Created by the Library of Congress, this website offers links to a variety of cultural aspects (for example, religion, education, genealogy, etc.) of each country listed.
