Ukuleles

Ukuleles for adults and children will be available for lending thanks to Martin Guitar Charitable. Please see below for information about lending and use.

Overview

  • Kit includes instrument, case, tuner, and Hal Leonard Ukulele Method Book 1
  • Kits MUST be returned in person at the circulation desk. Ukuleles cannot be returned in the outside book drop.
  • The loan period is two weeks and the kits are not renewable.
  • Only one kit will be loaned per family (per residential address).
  • If the borrowing policy is not followed, the library administration has the authority to revoke patron borrowing privileges.

Borrowing Policy

  • Ukuleles are available to be borrowed in person from the library.
  • In order to borrow a ukulele, a patron must be over the age of 18 and have a MLNV Library card in good standing. Caregivers can check out a ukulele on behalf of their child using the caregiver’s library card.
  • Holds cannot be placed on ukuleles.
  • Ukuleles are not available via Interlibrary Loan.
  • There are no renewals for ukulele loans.
  • The overdue fines for a ukulele is $5.00 per day.

Borrower Acknowledgement

  • The library does its best to provide a clean and fully functional ukulele, but is not responsible for unforeseen hardware failure.
  • Borrowers are responsible for the safekeeping of the ukulele, returning the ukulele to the library in good working order to the library, and assuming liability for the instrument while it is in their care.
  • Borrowers are responsible for damaged and/or missing pieces of the kit.
  • Damaged instruments will be evaluated for the determination of any fees. The library staff will notify patrons within two business days of any charges imposed.
  • We do not accept replacements for lost items. Lost items must be paid for in full at the time of the transaction. We cannot accept partial payments. Please note that the replacement cost of a ukulele is $400.
  • There are no refunds for lost items that the library receives payment, even if found at a later time.
