Pet Parade
The Nazareth Library Pet Parade is an annual fundraiser that takes place on a Saturday, May 30th, 2026. Patrons can register to bring their pets to march in the parade and be judged to win awesome, pet-themed prizes! Don’t have a pet? No problem! You can register with a stuffed animal to support the library, or come out and watch the parade the day of to show your support for some amazing animals!
All proceeds benefit the Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity.

Event Details and Participant Perks
The Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity invites everyone to its 2026 Pet Parade on Saturday, May 30th. This memorable community event is the kick-off for this year’s summer reading program.
Compete to win a prize for Best Owner/Pet Costume Combo, Teeniest Tiny Pet, “I Am Going to Need a Bigger Leash” (for Size or Personality), Most Unique Pet, Best Pet on Wheels (non-motorized floats, please), Most Huggable, and Star of the Show. End-of-parade festivities, including a deejay, vendors, demos, and fun activities! Proceeds will benefit the MLNV.

Parade Rules
• All pets must be on a leash, or otherwise contained, at all times. • Pet must have current vaccinations.
• No aggressive animals are permitted. Pets must be sociable with other animals, adults, and children. Pets must be comfortable in a loud and festive environment.
• Courtesy is appreciated. Be prepared to clean up after your pet.
• If you do not have a pet, you are welcome to register your favorite stuffed animal!
• Each pet must be accompanied by an owner/handler 16 years of age or older; the owner/handler is the main person responsible for controlling the pet in the parade. Other family members are welcome and encouraged to accompany the pet as well.
• ONE FREE T-SHIRT will be provided to each registration received by Friday, May 2nd.
• The first 100 registrants will receive a swag bag on parade day.
• You are highly encouraged to pick up T-shirts and contest numbers at the library during library hours beginning the Tuesday before the parade. Items may also be picked up at the parade start after 9:00 am on Parade Day.
• Contest categories: Best Owner/Pet Costume Combo, Teeniest Tiny Pet, “I Am Going to Need a Bigger Leash” (for Size or Personality), Most Unique Pet, Best Pet on Wheels (Only non-motorized floats are permitted: decorated wagons, strollers, kiddie cars, bicycles, etc.), Most Huggable, and Star of the Show.
• If you want your pet to be judged for awards, you must prominently display the number given to you at t-shirt/contest number distribution. • NEW THIS YEAR: end-of-parade festivities, including a deejay, vendors, demos, and fun activities!
