The Nazareth Library is now offering our 3d printing service to the public!

To request a print, hit the button below to get started. You do not need a library card to make a request. Before a request is made, please read the 3D print Policy (below).

3D Print Policy

3D- Printer Policy (09-08-23)

  • A $5 fee will be charged to submit a file for 3D printing. Additionally, the customer will be charged $0.10 per gram (10 cents per gram) of material used, including supports.
    • o    All costs are payable when the item is picked up.
  • Patrons may select one of our stock prints or submit a design of their own.
    • The library reserves the right to approve or deny any 3D print requests.
    • Slicing: Patrons may not slice their request themselves but may specify any special print settings when the request is made. If no specific settings are requested, library staff will use our default settings:
      • 0.1 mm layer height, 20% infill, 200°C printing temperature, 60°C build plate temperature, 50.0 mm/s print speed.
      • The final print time may not be more than seven (7) hours. If the file submitted is projected to take longer than seven hours, staff members will contact the patron to resolve the issue.
  • The 3D printer may be used only for lawful purposes. Library patrons may not create materials that is:
    • Prohibited by local, state or federal law.
      Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others.
    • In violation of another’s intellectual property rights, e.g., a 3D printer may not be used to reproduce objects which are protected by a copyright, patent or trademark.
    • Acceptance of customer designs to be printed on the 3D printer by library staff does not constitute knowledge, or acknowledgment, of any unapparent final use of the 3D product and the library specifically disclaims knowledge thereof.
  • The library is not responsible for the functionality or quality of content produced on the 3D printer. Refunds are not permitted.
  • 3D print sales are final, subject to four exceptions:
    • If a print fails due to a printer or setup issue, the failed print is not charged and will be reprinted.
    • If a print is of unacceptable quality to the staff member printing it, the failed print is not charged and will be reprinted.
    • If a print fails due to printer inability (small parts failing to print, insufficient bridging, etc.), the patron may decide to either cancel their order at no charge or to pay additional material costs for subsequent print attempts.
    • If a print is of satisfactory quality to the staff member printing it, but the patron considers it to be of unacceptable quality, the patron may cancel their order at no materials cost, but still pays the print request fee.
  • Only designated library staff will have hands-on access to the 3D printer.
  • The library reserves the right to photograph any 3D printed items and use those photographs at our discretion.
