What a Wonderful World Tote Bag Art Contest 
Art Submissions: Mon, June 2- Sat, June 14 
Voting: Mon, June 16-Sat, June 21 
Winning Art Announced: Mon, June 23 
Kids can enter for the chance to have their art featured on a summer reading tote bag! Open to children ages 2-12 years. Children should draw a one-color design (using a black marker or crayon) on an 11×8.5 inch piece of paper (landscape or “hotdog” style). The theme is “What a Wonderful World”. They can submit their art to the Children’s Room between Mon, June 2 and Sat, June 14. Children can vote on their favorite design Mon, June 16-Sat, June 21. We will announce the winning art on Mon, June 23. We will raffle off 15 bags each week of summer. Every child who registers for Color Our World is automatically entered in the raffle.

Tiny Art Contest                                                                                                                                                                                                                           For Adults-Beginning June 16th, pick up a bag of supplies at the library and create your own tiny artwork. All items, or portions of them, in the bag of supplies must be used in some way. Items may be added to create the finished piece, but the piece cannot exceed 4″x4″x4″. Entries due August 2nd.  Entries will be exhibited until August 15th and must be picked up by August 22nd. The winner will receive a special prize!

Mini Crochet Challenge                                                                                                                                                                                                               For Teens-Teens can pick up a bag filled with small skeins of yarn, as well as other notions, that they must use in a tiny crochet or knit project. Contestants can make anything they want, and use as much additional material as is required for the project, but they must use most of the yarn provided to them, and their final project may not be larger that 6×6 in. Entries must be returned by the end of July, and they will be judged by the leads of our knitting and crochet groups. Winner gets a gift card prize!

What in the World is the Garden Gnome Looking At? 
This summer the Library Garden Gnome is traveling the world to view artistic masterpieces! Each week he will send the library a new postcard describing a famous work of art. Children are invited to use special reference materials to guess which art piece he is describing. Correct answers will be entered into a weekly raffle for fun prizes.

Marvelous Masterpieces Scavenger Hunt
There are 15 works of art hidden around the Children’s Room. Children who find all 15 will win a small prize.

Weaving Wall with Recycled Textiles 
Come check out our special weaving wall on wheels! Library patrons are invited to add to this community art project using scraps of fabric and yarn.

Sunshine Mobile 
Visitors to the Children’s Room are invited to make their own “stained glass” suncatchers to add to a giant sunshine mobile. Pick up a take-home craft kit, work on your creation at home, and bring it back to the library to display. Come watch our mobile sparkle and grow all summer long.

I Spy! Bulletin Board 
Can you find the art supplies that are hiding in plain sight? Young readers can challenge themselves to read the riddles and hunt down the hidden items.
